I’m Mohammad Ali Mirzayi known online as moalimir.

I study computer engineering at Sharif University, and I’m interested in software engineering, system design, and AI/ML.

My approach

That’s probably the simplest way to describe how I work.

I think laziness is surprisingly useful in engineering. The right kind of laziness makes you question repetition, remove unnecessary complexity, and look for a cleaner way to solve the same problem.

  1. Question first

    Before solving a problem, I like to ask whether it should be solved at all. A surprising amount of engineering is avoiding unnecessary engineering.

  2. Design before code

    I’d rather spend more time finding the right abstraction than rush into an implementation I’ll regret later. The code usually gets easier once the model is right.

  3. Automate the boring parts

    Anything repetitive eventually starts bothering me enough that I automate it. That instinct is probably responsible for half the software I build.

  4. Keep it simple

    I care about clean architecture and scalable systems, but architecture is a tool, not a goal. The best solution is usually the simplest one that still survives reality.

  5. Creative problem solving

    The obvious solution is rarely the only one — I’d rather sit with a problem a little longer than ship the first idea that works.

  6. Strategic thinking

    Every decision gets weighed against where the system is headed, not just what’s in front of me today.
